An Elegant and Timeless Pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern Neoclassical Lounge Chairs / Armchairs or Club Chairs by Paolo Buffa circa 1947 -1955. The chairs have a classic profile with their perfect forms, smooth and sensuous lines and enveloping wingback style. They are finished with rear saber legs and round tapered legs in front, each free of decoration, relying on pure form to convey dignity. The pieces strike a perfect balance between tradition and modernity that Buffa was famous for. They are understated, relaxed and convey good taste and eternal beauty.

Paolo Buffa and Gio Ponti were the most important creators in Italy during the mid-century period. They re-invigorated Italian design with freshness while always referencing the purity and dignity of the past. These chairs exemplify that spirit.
