Description
Depth: 8.75" // With rustic texture and simplicity of form, this petite 19th-century stool is a timeless example of casual seating in rural China. Crafted of northern elm (yumu) with mortise-and-tenon joinery, the low stool features a unique seat shaped like a crescent moon and three splayed legs linked with intersecting stretcher bars. The humble stool is well worn from time, with a softly faded top and traces of the original dark finish along the legs and sides.
