Introducing the rare and collectible “Miss Wirt” chairs, a post-modern marvel designed by the iconic Philippe Starck for Disform, Spain circa 1982-1983. This pair epitomizes the sheer brilliance and forward-thinking of Starck, combining literature, design, and functionality into a unique piece of art.
Drawing profound inspiration from Philip K. Dick's acclaimed science fiction masterpiece, "Ubik", the "Miss Wirt" chairs not only serve as a seating solution but narrate a story. It's not just a chair; it's a conversation.
The design is both minimalistic and ingenious: the black cotton fabric, newly upholstered, is gracefully stretched over two slender vertical steel tubes. This tensioning technique innovatively forms the chair's comfortable back, making it a union of aesthetics and ergonomics.
The round seat, with a 14.5” diameter, is upholstered in matching fabric, ensuring consistent elegance and comfort.
However, the real magic lies in its three-legged design of enameled tubular steel. A deliberate deviation from the traditional, it speaks to the innovative spirit of the era and the boldness of its creator.
Adding to its allure and testimony to its timeless design, the "Miss Wirt" chair graces the permanent collections of illustrious institutions such as MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum, and several renowned international museums. Owning this pair is akin to holding a fragment of design history.
Celebrate the confluence of art, design, and literature with this collectible chair by Philippe Starck. An investment in the “Miss Wirt” is not merely for seating; it's for the soul of your living space. Elevate your interiors with this piece of history today. -
