Description
A Pair of Crystal Stools, Italian Production by Glas Italia, Design by Philippe Starck, Prototypes with Certification from the Manufacturer
We invite you to experience the allure of a true rarity with this unique pair of stools. Crafted by Glas Italia, a renowned Italian manufacturer, these stools embody a rich legacy of innovation and craftsmanship.
Glas Italia was founded near Milan in the late 19th century and has, since the 1970s, redefined the art of glass and crystal production through its century-old expertise. The company seamlessly combines tradition, exceptional quality, and cutting-edge design, catering to a sophisticated and discerning clientele with its furnishings, partition systems, and decorative accessories. Over the years, Glas Italia has collaborated with numerous internationally acclaimed designers.
The stools presented here were designed by the celebrated Parisian designer Philippe Starck, renowned for the seductive transparency in his creations, which transform furniture into ethereal presences balanced between reality and dream. These stools, with their meticulously crafted seat shapes, never entered regular production due to the prohibitive costs of large-scale manufacturing of the curved glass seats. As such, they remain unique prototypes.
A prototype is more than a rare object; it captures the unparalleled charm of the design process in a way mass-produced items cannot. Each stool, made from 24mm-thick crystal, reflects the meticulous exploration of form and material that defines both Starck’s visionary approach and Glas Italia’s mastery.
Incorporating these stools into your interior is a declaration of love for historical design. Each piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and uniqueness issued by the manufacturer.
