Description
Primitive Wabi Sabi Carved Tripod Side Chair
This is a stunning antique tripod chair with the seat and backrest carved from one piece of wood - which is unusual and speaks of the high level of craftsmanship of the maker. The wood shows beautiful colors and grain and features wonderful marks of hand carving all over.
The design of this chair is sculptural and elegant, but originally this merely was a practical piece of farmhouse furniture. Although not intended as a statement piece, this tripod chair now is a true work of art and would be a wonderful wabi sabi item to grace your residential or commercial interior.
Just look at the unique stance of the chair, with its leaning backrest and uneven carving. When seen from the front, the backrest shows an elegant shape reminiscent of antique hall or Sgabello chairs. Its wide spread legs only add to the unusual charm of this one-off antique.
Would be marvelous as a stand alone corner or side chair. Overall, it is a true gem!
