The Jim sofa stands as the centerpiece of Proisy Studio’s Modern Cowboy collection, a sculptural oversized curved sofa, 3 to 5-seater piece whose sweeping lines combine comfort, elegance, and craftsmanship. With its remarkable three meters (118 in) in length, Jim is conceived as a generous landscape of seating, designed to define rather than simply furnish a space.

Its fluid silhouette, free of sharp angles, unfolds in a continuous curve that invites both conversation and repose. Jim’s sweeping line fosters a natural sense of dialogue and conviviality, a sofa designed not only for comfort, but for presence. Whether placed in a gallery-like setting or a private residence, its scale and rhythm transform the space, turning seating into a sculptural composition.

Entirely handcrafted in France, Jim combines an upholstered solid beech wood frame with polished and varnished brass feet, subtly elevating its generous form. The bouclé wool fabric by the French house Nobilis enhances the tactile depth of the piece, echoing the studio’s devotion to materiality and texture.

Jim is part of the Modern Cowboy collection, which revisits and pays tribute to the raw elegance of the American West, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens of refined French savoir-faire. Within this family of pieces, which includes the Jane lounge chairs, Jessie stools, and Bonnie daybed, Jim shares their aesthetic vocabulary, built on sculptural balance and material honesty, and stands as a synthesis of architecture, design, and comfort.

Each Proisy Studio piece is conceived, drawn, and fully handmade in the brand’s workshops in France, by a dedicated team of artisans combining traditional upholstery and modern cabinetmaking techniques.
