Description
2008 Ralph Pucci India Mahdavi Oliver Armchairs in Silk, Pair
Offered for sale is a sophisticated pair of silk-upholstered armchairs by India Mahdavi, designed exclusively for Ralph Pucci International. These chairs exemplify Mahdavi’s iconic design language, sculptural curves, refined proportions, and vibrant elegance. The unusual cutout for the lumbar bolster pillow is a wonderful detail. Upholstered in luxurious silk over a solid hardwood frame, they deliver both visual impact and plush comfort. They are supported by polished silver metal legs. Suitable for residential or boutique hospitality interiors. Designed in Paris; produced and distributed via Pucci’s U.S. studios, this pair merges Parisian chic with American craftsmanship.
India Mahdavi is a Paris-based international interior, furniture and object designer whose work is focused on imagination. Mahdavi’s designs capture her personality: modern, elegant and out of the ordinary. She uses simple yet noble materials like lacquer, ceramic, rattan, and wood. Called the Queen of Color, she was the subject of a feature profile in The New Yorker magazine and her design of Sketch restaurant in London is considered the most Instagrammed in the world. She was inducted into Interior Design’s Hall of Fame in 2019, the latest of numerous awards in her career. She joined RALPH PUCCI in 2008.
