Rare Diminutive Classical Carved Settee
Probably Massachusetts, ca. 1830.
Mahogany, mahogany and rosewood veneer, pine secondary woods.
Over-all in great condition, minor repair to crest rail, otherwise all original except for upholstery.
Provenance: Collection of Massie Jones, Jr., Richmond, Virginia.
In a rare size, this Classical carved settee has a carved crest rail with scrolled, carved rosettes flanked by shaped arms with carved cornucopias above a paneled frame supported by carved legs and paw feet ending on casters.
