Description
Fine and rare pair of James II walnut and cane hall chairs, the turned finials over profusely foliate carved oval backs with turned and carved uprights, standing on canted "horsebone" scrolled legs joined by foliate carved scrolled high stretcher, and unusual "X" lower stretchers, the whole possessing rich patina and executed with an unusually high level of quality.
