Description
This French provincial ladder-back armchair reflects the honest craftsmanship of rural furniture making in the early 20th century. Constructed in solid wood with gently turned arm supports and a traditional woven rush seat, the chair displays the characteristic simplicity and durability associated with countryside interiors. The shaped ladder-back slats and subtly tapered legs lend a balanced silhouette while maintaining a robust, utilitarian presence typical of farmhouse seating.
The surface retains a rich natural patina developed through decades of use, highlighting the texture of the wood and the authenticity of the construction. Such chairs were traditionally used around farmhouse tables or near the hearth, valued for their comfort and durability. As with many rustic pieces of this age, minor traces consistent with historical use may be present; all our rustic furniture has undergone a two-cycle preventive woodworm treatment to ensure long-term preservation. - More Information
