Scandinavian Stool in Solid Oak and Papercord 1960s

A Scandinavian stool in solid oak with a handwoven paper cord seat. Mid 20th century.

The seat is executed in hand woven papercord, forming a balanced basket-weave surface that brings both strength and subtle texture to the piece.

The warm tone of the oak has gained a nice color and patina and the woven surface introduces a tactile element to the otherwise restrained architectural oak frame.

Great as a stool, but equally suited as a small side table beside a lounge chair or sofa.

Comes in a good and original condition.
