Sergio Rodrigues ‘Kilin' Lounge Chairs. set of three, Brasil, 1970s
-
Description
Exceptional set of Kilin chairs by Brazilian architect Sergio Rodrigues. Made dark wood and high quality saddle leather these chairs have become truly iconic over the years. The open spaces in the dark brown leather give these chairs a semi-light and transparent appearance. The leather is rounded at the seating which serves as a good balance against the straighter and pointy lines of the frame. It also makes them very inviting to sit in and once you do: they sit very comfortably, not unimportant for a lounge chair. An organic chair on somewhat higher legs than you would expect and for the people who like similarity: the 'spanish chairs' by Børge Mogensen are quite look alike to this Brazilian variant. Perfect proportions and good choices of material. Difficult to find a set of three. Would fit perfect in a house with plants or for anyone who is looking for a natural and 'green' atmosphere. The leather has been conditioned very well and the frames were thoroughly expected so they are ready to go.
