Description
A set of six dining chairs produced in the 1960s, crafted in solid Brazilian rosewood with woven cane seats and backs. The design is defined by its clean architectural frame and gently rounded edges, lending the chairs both visual refinement and comfort in use.
The seats are subtly contoured, creating a natural seating posture, while the rectangular cane backs introduce a light, open texture that contrasts with the depth of the rosewood frame. The slender legs and simple stretchers reinforce the restrained mid-century character of the design.
The rosewood has been carefully refinished to highlight the natural grain and tonal variation of the timber. The cane has been newly replaced, restoring the structural integrity and clarity of the woven surfaces.
Unattributed, but representative of the refined craftsmanship and material emphasis characteristic of Brazilian furniture design of the period. -
