Description
These chairs are what happens when wabi-sabi restraint elopes with full-blown postmodern maximalism. Each one has been professionally powder-coated in the most delicious shade of warm tan, soft enough to feel serene, rich enough to feel intentional-- and topped with thick, creamy ivory bouclé that practically begs you to sit down and cancel your evening plans.
The silhouette is where things get magical. The triangular backrest, upholstered in that cloud-puff bouclé, perches on a swooping set of metal supports that arc backward like calligraphy drawn in the air. It creates this gentle cantilever that looks impossibly sculptural yet somehow feels like leaning back into a warm hug. The lines curve, the metal dances, and the whole thing reads like a flirty wink to the best of Memphis Milano. (And boyyyyy-- are these chairs comfortable!!!)
You can feel echoes of Sottsass in the geometry, whispers of Shiro Kuramata in the curves, a little Michele De Lucchi attitude in the playfulness, even a sprinkle of Nathalie du Pasquier in the spirit. It has that unapologetic postmodern energy, but softened-- tender, warm, almost poetic. The kind of chairs that look like functional sculpture but behave like the comfiest seats at the dinner party. Truly; they’re extremely comfortable. Shockingly so. Like “your guests will never leave and you’ll start making excuses” comfortable.
The set is irresistible in person: the tan frames glow in natural light, the boucle catches shadow beautifully, and the cantilevered backs cast these curvy, architectural lines onto the floor. They’re conversation starters, mood lifters, room definers. Exactly the kind of sculptural seating that thrives in contemporary spaces, gallery-level interiors, boutique dining rooms, or anywhere craving a hit of Italian-inspired postmodern personality.
For collectors or admirers of Memphis Milano legends like Ettore Sottsass, Martine Bedin, Marco Zanini, Shiro Kuramata, Nathalie du Pasquier, and Michele De Lucchi, this set hits every dopamine trigger: daring forms, playful geometry, functional art vibes, and a polished finish that makes them wildly livable today.
Eight chairs. Infinite personality. Pure postmodern poetry with a cozy twist. If you’re crafting a space with soul, sculptural bravado, and a little wink of whimsy, these are it! -
