Description
A graceful set of four Lombard gondola chairs from the first half of the 19th century, finely crafted in solid walnut. These elegant chairs exemplify the neoclassical Lombard tradition, with gently arched backrests and exquisitely carved central splats featuring intricate foliate and scroll motifs. The craftsmanship highlights the depth and warmth of walnut, enhanced by a smooth, hand-polished patina that brings out its natural luster. Each chair rests on saber-shaped front legs and slightly curved rear supports, offering both balance and refined movement to the silhouette. The upholstered seats, covered in a light damask fabric, provide comfort while maintaining historical authenticity. Recently restored with care, this set is structurally sound and ready to be placed in a home or formal interior. A timeless ensemble that captures the sophistication and sculptural beauty of 19th-century Italian furniture.
