Set of Four 19th Century Swedish Blackened Wood and Gilt Lyre-Back Chairs
-

            Description

A superb suite of four 19th century Swedish chairs, each with a finely carved frame and escutcheon-shaped back centered by a stylized basin motif. The original blackened wood finish is beautifully accented with traces of gilt, creating a rich contrast that highlights the crisp carving. Retaining their authentic surface, the chairs display a time-earned patina that enhances their charm and historic character. Sturdy and well-proportioned, they rest on straight legs united by stretchers, offering both stability and elegance. In good condition, this rare set is ideal for use around a dining table, in a formal salon, or as decorative accent seating in a refined interior.
