Description
An elegant set of ten French chairs crafted in the Louis XV–Louis XVI transition style, dating to the twentieth century. The design bridges the softness of Louis XV with the emerging symmetry and structure of Louis XVI, resulting in chairs that feel both graceful and architectural.
The frames are finished in a softly patinated gray lacquer, subtly accented with pale green highlights that enhance the carved details without overpowering the form. The shaped backs feature stylized wheat-sheaf motifs, a decorative element associated with neoclassical symbolism and abundance. The front legs are curved in the Louis XV manner, while the rear legs are saber-shaped, reinforcing the transitional character of the set.
Each chair is fitted with a comfortable upholstered seat covered in light gray grained leather or imitation leather, offering durability and visual cohesion. Solidly constructed and well balanced in scale, this set is ideal for a formal dining room or refined entertaining space, providing unity, comfort, and classical French elegance.
