Description
The term “Swedish Modern” was quickly established as a reinterpretation of the Modern style during the 1940s, where functionalism was replaced by a freer and more artistic ideal. Swedish Modern furniture is popular because it speaks to both our inclination towards uncluttered, tidy spaces and our desire to reside in inviting and comfortable settings.
There is a great balance in the execution of this sofa, which is achieved through the clever use of the undulating rounded edges of the upholstered body and the detail of the divot design on the front legs. The curving back and armrests are welcoming, and unmistakable of the era’s design inclinations, particularly in Sweden. The rich texture of the cozy upholstery gives the sofa a modern edge while also enhancing the generous size of the seat and back, creating a luxurious look and feel..
The short, decorated wooden legs add a modern and attractive touch, balancing out the voluptuous profile of the sofa. The masterful sense of proportions, the curved back and the soft seat cushion guarantee comfort and functionality.
