Description
A quietly glamorous set of eight dining chairs by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb—where tailored modernism meets an ease that feels entirely current.
The collection includes two sculptural armchairs and six perfectly proportioned side chairs, all raised on elegant tapered walnut legs that give just the right lift and lightness. The silhouettes are classic Gibbings: restrained, architectural, and impossibly chic without trying too hard.
A restored set of chairs from the 1950s by interior & furniture designer Terrence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings. They’ve been newly upholstered in a performance indoor/outdoor fabric—soft to the eye, durable by design. The subtle stripe, in a palette of warm taupe, charcoal, ivory, and pale mineral tones, adds rhythm without overwhelming the form. It’s a textile that reads refined indoors yet is forgiving enough for real life—dinner parties, spills, sunlight, and everything in between.
The armchairs bring a moment of structure with their clean-lined wooden arms, while the side chairs keep things streamlined and versatile—ideal for mixing into a variety of table settings, from formal dining rooms to more relaxed, layered spaces.
This is the kind of set that elevates a room instantly—timeless, collected, and quietly luxurious. A true decorator’s staple with presence, pedigree, and practicality.
