Exceedingly original, rare and a quite beautiful example of great English Georgian Furniture. A mahogany bench - stool - hall seat of the best chosen timbers with the most glorious colour and natural patination in this unique mid 18th century manner. There are several similar pieces known to exist - one at Oxford University in the Brasenose Library, and similar Rococo decorated ones at Petworth House, Sussex. No doubt this example has come from one of our great English homes.
"Would grace the home of the most serious collector - aesthete.
