Description
The sofa set and two Soriana armchairs designed by Tobia Scarpa for Cassina. Steel structure and upholstered in white wool, Italian design from the 1960s.
This iconic set of Soriana sofa and armchairs designed by Tobia Scarpa is a perfect example of the elegance and functionality of mid-century Italian design. The Soriana series was awarded the Compasso d’Oro, one of the most prestigious design awards, thanks to its innovative form that combines comfort and aesthetics into a single piece. The chrome-plated steel structure gently supports the white wool upholstery, providing an enveloping sense of comfort.
Tobia Scarpa's ergonomic design ensures that both the sofa and the armchairs offer maximum comfort without sacrificing style. This set is not only ideal for a living room but also adds a touch of luxury and sophistication to any modern or contemporary space. Additionally, its timeless design makes it a highly sought-after collectible among mid-century design enthusiasts.
Afra and Tobia Scarpa studied at the Institute of Architecture in Venice. Tobia first worked for the Italian glass manufacturer Venini. Starting in 1960, the couple opened their own design office and worked for numerous important Italian and international companies. Their work includes architecture and everyday items such as furniture and clothing.
