Description
This model visually represents the very reason Votre Maison and Guillerme et Chambron significantly influenced French design history. From every angle, this sofa’s design has unique solutions that are unmistakable and blur the line between furniture and sculpture.
Featuring a solid oak frame with sharply angled arms, six legs, and vertical slat detailing along the backrest, this sofa is a hallmark of Guillerme et Chambron's structural language. The frame is striking through its composition, yet the look is enhanced even further thanks to the large, circular back cushions, which immediately draw the eye with their playful geometry. Like most of their designs, this sofa model displays a beautiful contrast between the wooden frame and the elegant light fabric of the seat and back cushions. The backrest - which is undoubtedly the main design element - consists of several spindles framed by oak rails on the top, sides and the bottom. The woodworking and joinery truly show the overall quality of this sofa, the frame is refined and the attention to the smallest detail shows the manufacturing skills of Guillerme et Chambron. The expert woodworking is especially visible in the armrests, their peculiar shape greatly adding to the visual interest of the sofa.
Guillerme et Chambron's work continues to resonate for its balance of charm, function, and artisan quality, all of which are on full display in this distinctive piece.
