Description
A fine carved walnut side chair having a carved crest rail supported by shaped and veneered stiles and a carved and veneered back splat with a drop in seat on a shaped and veneered seat rail resting on carved cabriole legs terminating in ball and claw feet. Chairs from a similar set were sold at Parke-Bernet Galleries in the Walter Chrysler Sale, April 30, 1960, illustrated on page 36, Lot 363, differing primarily in the shape of the seat and the shaped seat rail, the rest virtually identical.
