Set of Five Worpsweder Armlehnstühle after a design by Willi Ohler

Price Upon Request
  • Description
This set of five Worpsweder Armlehnstühle follows a design by Willi Ohler, originally developed in the 1920 and reflects the continued life of the Worpswede workshop tradition in later production. Rooted in an Arts and Crafts-related approach to making, the chairs translate vernacular craft influences into a clear, architectural language associated with early modern German design. Executed in solid oak, they are defined by rectilinear frames, broad armrests, and woven rush seats and backs with a strong geometric pattern. Vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use; surface marks and patina to the oak, with age-related wear and variation to the rush weaving, consistent with later manufacture after the original 1920s design.
