Description
Rare pair of fully restored Mid Century Modern Thebes Chairs by William Pahlmann in new woven linen upholstery with minimalist linear design. Described as a "Design Legend" by Architectural Digest, William Pahlmann was inspired by ancient cultures and styles. He incorporated some of those ancient elements into mid century modern furniture. That eclectic mix made his pieces stand out from other mid century modern designs of the period. These Thebes chairs showcase Pahlmann's unique talent and merge modern mid century lines with Egyptian elements. Elegant. Affluent. Stately profile features clean mid century modern lines finished with Egyptian feet, an ancient style first enjoyed by Pharaohs. Comfortable wide seat and back cushions newly upholstered in linen. The back cushion is removable and reveals a cane back that's perfect for warmer climates. A wonderful acquisition for any collector of mid century modern pieces or aficionados of beautiful furniture.
