Description
A beautiful 18th-century Italian chest of drawers from Venice, masterfully crafted in solid cherrywood and showcasing the refined elegance of Northern Italian design.
This understated yet sophisticated piece features a clean, rectilinear silhouette resting on tapered legs with gently arched feet—typical of Venetian neoclassical style. The chest is arranged with two smaller upper drawers and two larger lower drawers, all fitted with original oval brass pulls and escutcheons.
The warm cherrywood boasts a rich, glowing patina developed over centuries, highlighting the natural grain and depth of the wood. Minimalist in ornamentation but rich in character, this chest exemplifies the Venetian taste for functional beauty and balanced proportions.
Its timeless form makes it highly versatile, ideal for use in a bedroom, entryway, or as a focal point in a modern or traditional interior. Well-preserved and structurally sound, this piece remains a superb example of 18th-century Italian craftsmanship, offering a perfect blend of practicality, historical charm, and lasting appeal.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
