18th Century Neoclassical Chest Of Drawers - Cherrywood, Austria circa 1790

$ 9,600
  • Description
    Remarkable late 18th century neoclassical cherrywood chest of drawers with fantastic inlay works, handcrafted in the famous period in Austria around 1790. This over 230 year old commode from the so-called "Josephinism" era - a period named after Emperor Joseph II. - impresses with its extraordinary looking design. Fine mirrormatched cherrywood veneer was set in a fantastic manner and especially emphasized by inlayed ebonized plumwood/ maple frames all over the dresser. (some are slighty bleeched) This elaborately crafted antique chest of drawers provides three large drawers and offers a lot of storage space. All drawers still keeping the original and fully functionable locks. Adorned by beautiful brass fittings, this amazaing looking, late 18th century neocalssical chest of drawers/ commode has been refurbished about 15 years ago and comes in a still great "ready to live" old restored condition.
