Description
A striking 18th-century Swedish Gustavian hanging cupboard, distinguished by its elegant arched bonnet and beautifully balanced paneled glass doors. The dark painted exterior lends the piece a dramatic architectural presence, while the softly painted interior creates a gentle contrast that highlights the open display shelves within.
The shaped glazed doors, divided into delicate muntins, give the cupboard a graceful rhythm and make it ideal for displaying ceramics, glassware, books, or collected decorative objects. Its refined cornice line and restrained silhouette reflect the clean neoclassical influence that defines the Gustavian period, while the aged painted surface carries the rich depth and authenticity expected of true 18th-century craftsmanship.
Perfect for use in a kitchen, dining room, or study, this hanging cupboard offers both elegant storage and display, bringing timeless Swedish character and quiet sophistication to the wall it occupies.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
