19th Century Biedermeier Nutwood Trumeau Commode, Austria circa 1830

Description
Marvellous 19th century nutwood "trumeau" commode from the famous Biedermeier period around 1830 in Vienna/ Austria. Elaborately veneered with absolutely amazing looking bookmatched nutwood (just see the outstanding grain, which runs down from the top to the base) for a wonderful allure, this unique so-called "Trumeau" commode features a lockable drawer with lovely brass pulls that sits above two doors that open wide to a divided compartment for convenient storage. The doors show a counter-veneered surface with cherrywood on the inside, which has been made to avoid a warping of the wooden doors and still keep the over 190 year old original lock. A really exceptional early 19th century Biedermeier trumeau commode out of Vienna coming in perfect restored condition. The traditional hand-polished shellac finish finalizes its outstanding appearance.
