Description
A handsome 19th century French buffet deux corps crafted in solid fruitwood with a warm, honeyed patina. This two-part cabinet features a beautifully carved frieze adorned with floral and scroll motifs, lending elegance to its otherwise clean architectural lines.
The upper section offers two paneled doors that open to reveal spacious shelving and two interior drawers, perfect for storing linens, tableware, or collectibles. The lower cabinet mirrors the paneled design and includes additional concealed storage behind double doors. Raised on squared feet and accented with turned details and scalloped apron carvings, this piece exhibits the understated refinement typical of provincial French craftsmanship.
Original brass hardware and working locks enhance its authenticity. The contrasting interior wood adds warmth and character, showcasing the natural variations and rich textures of the original material. Ideal for a dining room, kitchen, or living space, this buffet combines functionality with timeless French charm. It is both a decorative focal point and a practical storage solution.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
