Description
This 19th-century Swedish Gustavian-style chest of drawers reflects the understated elegance and disciplined design principles characteristic of Scandinavian furniture of the period. Crafted in Sweden, the chest features a three-drawer configuration with evenly proportioned façades, emphasizing balance and architectural clarity.
The surface is finished in a light painted tone, displaying subtle linear texture and gentle wear consistent with age, which adds depth and authenticity without detracting from the form. Each drawer is fitted with original round brass pulls and centered keyholes, reinforcing the piece’s historical integrity. The slightly molded top and tapered feet provide restrained decorative detail while maintaining a clean silhouette.
Representative of the Gustavian aesthetic, this chest favors simplicity, proportion, and functionality over ornamentation. Its versatile scale makes it suitable for use in a bedroom, entryway, or living space. Wear consistent with age is present throughout and contributes to the piece’s character, making it a refined and practical example of 19th-century Swedish case furniture.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
