Beautiful Provincial Vernacular Chest of Drawers in Solid Oak 19th Century

$ 6,450
  • Description
    A beautiful solid oak chest of drawers. Most probably England, early to mid-19th century.

    Constructed in solid oak with pine secondary timbers, the piece shows a very grounded and honest design without to much ornament. A true provincial workshop piece with great presence and a wonderful country / farmhouse aesthetic. The oak surface carries the full character of the material, including natural flaws and areas of wear that have been retained rather than corrected.

    The drawers are hand cut and irregular, their movement guided by a simple internal system. Wonderful original brass hardware.

    Comes in a highly original and honest condition with great color and patina.
