Description
New England, probably Massachusetts, ca. 1780-1795.
Maple with red painted surface, oval brasses.
Excellent condition, retaining original brasses, minor shrinkage cracks on a few applied bracket foot facings.
This compact, well-proportioned chest has an applied molded cornice above five graduated drawers with thumb-molded edges, supported by tall shaped bracket feet. Nice clean lines with an exceptional painted surface.
