Description
This two-part cabinet in walnut exemplifies French provincial craftsmanship with its stacked design and graceful proportions. The upper section features two paneled doors, while the lower base includes three small drawers and two larger cupboard doors, all appointed with period brass hardware and supported by cabriole legs.
Circa 1780, this piece reflects the Louis XV tradition of elegant domestic furniture. The buffet deux corps, or two-body cabinet, was a practical yet refined storage solution favored by the French middle class during the late 18th century, combining display and concealment in a single substantial form.
