Description
A sculptural expression of Brazilian Modern refinement, this 1950s bar balances architectural clarity with sensual curvature. Executed in two contrasting woods — richly grained rosewood and ebonized hardwood — the piece demonstrates the confident material interplay that defined the most sophisticated interiors of the period.
The gently curved façade is veneered in rosewood, its organic grain movement creating visual rhythm across the surface, while the sides and structural framework introduce tonal depth and contrast. The upper serving surface incorporates Formica, a deliberate modern material choice that speaks to mid-century innovation and practicality. A sliding door — also rosewood veneered — conceals interior storage, maintaining a clean, uninterrupted silhouette.
Raised on elegant, black-finished legs with subtle architectural stance, the bar achieves a lightness that belies its solid construction. Its proportions are particularly compelling: substantial enough to anchor a room, yet refined in scale — an ideal statement piece without overwhelming the space.
The bar retains signs of original use consistent with age, preserving its authenticity and period integrity.
A rare opportunity to acquire a Brazilian Modern bar that embodies both material richness and sculptural presence — perfectly scaled for collectors seeking impact without excess. -
