Description
This Dutch block front chest features four graduated drawers with beautifully figured walnut veneer and elaborate marquetry inlay depicting flowering vines and scrollwork across the facade. Brass pulls and escutcheons accent each drawer, while the serpentine front and shaped bracket feet create a sophisticated silhouette that showcases the skilled craftsmanship of the period.
Early 18th century, Dutch. This piece reflects the refined taste of Northern European furniture makers, combining the practical form of a chest of drawers with the ornamental tradition of marquetry work that flourished in Holland during this era.
