Description
An antique Alpine chest in fir wood, beautifully retaining its original painted finish in a soft, time-worn blue. The front is divided into two framed panels, each adorned with a hand-painted vase of flowers, bordered by warm oxide-red moldings that add depth and gentle contrast. The paint surface shows natural aging and patina, giving the piece an inviting, lived-in character without feeling overly distressed. Inside, a traditional internal compartment with a hinged flap offers added storage for smaller items or keepsakes. The chest stands on rounded bun feet, grounding the form and enhancing its charming, rustic silhouette. This piece embodies the quiet craftsmanship of the Alpine regions—simple, soulful, and undeniably warm. Perfect at the foot of a bed, beneath a window, or styled as a coffee table in a relaxed living space, it brings an easy sense of history and color to any room.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
