Description
The importance of function with Mid-Century Modern design was always at the forefront of a designer’s approach. Good designers would err on the conservative side while composing a design, considering each element and what that element added to the user’s experience. It was during this era when furniture became simply “uncluttered” and refined while also taking into account the lifestyle of the typical user of the time, whether it was an individual, a couple, or a family. Often overlooked, the work done in the category of storage design is something to be celebrated. Designers introduced elegance to storage solutions, an idea often applied to this day. Pieces such as this Storage Unit by Jack Cartwright for Founders showcase the art of storage, offering several open and closed areas for one’s personal collectables and cherished belongings.
This Jack Cartwright Unit is designed to be modular, adaptable to every individual’s needs and taste. Several wood case pieces are joined together securely using polished aluminum rails which also serve as the Unit’s legs, each equipped with levelers which allow for the piece to be placed anywhere securely. As assembled in our photography, the following elements are shown:
2 Small Caned Cabinets
2 Large Caned Cabinets
1 Double-Sided Sliding Glass Display Cabinet
2 Wood Shelves (an additional shelf not shown is included for a total of 3)
1 Flip Down Secretaries Desk / Bar
1 Slim Drawer
1 Three Drawer Chest
