Description
A French Louis XV period mid-18th century walnut buffet à deux-corps from the Loire Valley with bonnet top. Born in the exquisite Loire Valley region that shelters some of the most amazing Renaissance chateaux of France, this walnut buffet à deux-corps features a 'chapeau de gendarme' top sitting above two arched doors carved with a delicate scrolling floral décor. The doors open to reveal serpentine inner shelves offering ample storage opportunities. The lower section, of deeper dimensions, showcases two smaller doors topped with petite dovetailed drawers accented with large rosettes. The ensemble is raised on four legs, scrolled in the front and straight in the back and connected to one another through a scalloped apron on three sides. With its graceful lines and lovely walnut patina, this French Louis XV buffet à deux-corps circa 1750 will bring a touch of refinement to any living room or dining room.
