French 18th Century Mahogany Petite Commode
-
Description
Dimensions: 31” H x 24.75” W x 16.75” D
A petite mahogany commode from circa 1780 France, aligning with the Louis XVI taste, it is a multipurpose storage piece scaled down bedside table proportions to use practically anywhere around the home. The Saint Anne marble top exhibits the characteristic grayscale veining etched with a tactile, rusty-orange patch. Modest in construction, the case of three drawers use brass ring pull hardware which lends functional ornamentation to the piece, complemented by brass trim to define the paneling over the drawer fronts in dark grain patterns. Fluted “pilasters” on the sides taper down to square feet. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this unique case piece is ready to join your interior.
