English 19th Century Mahogany Revolving Bookcase
-
Description
Dimensions: 34 ¼” H x 24” W x 24” D
A very practical and fun design, this square revolving bookcase would have been made in England circa 1870 using solid mahogany. The thinly ripped vertical slats give the antique a look that was ahead of its time; tts incredible lines could have been an inspiration for Frank Lloyd Wright and those involved in the Arts & Crafts movement. Each of its four sides have two levels for arranging all of your favorite books. The bookcase revolves on a cast iron center shaft elevated by four legs mounted to a cruciform wood base that remains stationary–taking up very little room on the floor yet offers plenty of shelf space with display surface on the top. The clean lines would work well in nearly any interior decoration style, and accommodate a variety of collections. Cleaned, tightened and polished with a French paste wax this antique bookcase is ready to use in your interior. Please view the detailed images. -
