A substantial 19th century French Louis Philippe style bibliothèque or bookcase, handcrafted of mahogany with a lovely sheen that reveals variegated colors and grain patterns in the wood. Behind the locking doors–which appear to have retained their original glass panes–are four interior shelves (10 ⅝” D) adjustable on sawtooth brackets to easily reconfigure as needed for displaying collections of books, heirlooms, or trophies. Behind the two paneled doors in the case below, using a separate lock & key, is a large cabinet offering an adjustable shelf, 17 ¾” deep, on sawtooth brackets. The clean lines allow this timeless design to fit any number of traditional and transitional decorating tastes. Cleaned, tightened, and polished this fine case piece is ready for your interior.
