Description
Dimensions: 37” H x 49 ⅞” W x 21 ½” D
This Louis Philippe commode from France, 19th century, has mesmerizing burled, bookmatched walnut drawer fronts with dense ripples of grain pattern that flow from one to the other for a unified effect. On the top surface, the white marble shows thin wisps of gray veining under a softly etched patina and rounded edges. Note that there is one distinct patch of ochre-toned patina. A stack of four drawers open by working locks (sharing a key between them) fitted with ornate escutcheons whose foliate themes are the perfect complement to the tones and organic swirls of the drawer fronts. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images. -
