French 19th Century Painted Louis Phillipe Commode

$ 4,300
  • Description
    A French Louis-Phillipe painted commode circa 1850 with faux marble top and four drawers. Created in France during the 19th century, this lovely commode features a very interesting and unique rectangular faux marble top with rounded corners, sitting above a perfectly organized facade. Four drawers, a narrow curving frieze drawer at the top followed by three larger ones, are each fitted with a simple brass oval shaped escutcheon. Two original keys are present. A small key opens the top drawer lock and a larger second key opens the other three drawers. The minimal hardware does not detract from the beautiful patina on this piece that still has its original paint. The commode is raised on block feet and has an unpainted paneled back. With its elegant lines and a most particular patina this commode is sure to add just the right stylish touch to a bedroom or living area. Be sure to view the detailed images for a closer look at the current condition of this antique.
