Description
A French Louis XVI style cherry commode from the 19th century, with three graduated drawers, linear brass hardware, fluted side posts and cylindrical tapered legs. Created in France during the 19th century, this cherry commode showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XVI era. The commode features a rectangular planked top with rounded corners in the front, sitting above three graduated drawers. Each drawer presents a recessed panel and is fitted with linear brass handles surrounding a central escutcheon. The dovetail construction reveals the piece's age. The rounded side posts are fluted and flank the recessed panels making up the sides. The back is, of course, unfinished. The ensemble is raised on four cylindrical tapering legs. With its Classical lines and cherry patina, this French Louis XVI style three drawer commode from the 19th century will bring a touch of undeniable elegance to any home, perhaps placed in a living room or bedroom.
