Description
This cabinet having a single paneled door richly decorated with a grid of 25 deeply recessed, geometric square panels, each with concentric stepped detailing. The door opens to a shelved interior and is fitted with an original dark metal escutcheon and hinges. The cabinet rests above a single wide drawer fitted with round wooden pulls and is raised on simple square-cut legs. The substantial oak construction, warm natural finish, pronounced grain, and bold geometric ornament exemplify the robust, architectural character associated with French Brutalist furniture.

This is One of two available French oak Brutalist style single door cabinets, C 1960. There is a very slight difference in the dimensions of the two cabinets.

They would be stylish bathroom storage for linens and toiletries, dining room storage for table linens, serving pieces, or barware, or a wonderful drop zone in an entry.
