George Nakashima, American Studio, Mid-Century Modern, Rare Cabinet or Dresser, USA, 1953
Rare opportunity to acquire a special order cabinet designed and produced by George Nakashima in New Hope, PA in 1953. This work features two doors concealing two adjustable shelves and one bank of “face drawers” with inlet pulls, the fronts of this design are carefully selected and matched of wood from the same tree. Purchased directly from the artist by the former owner. This is a very unique work and quite possibly the only example of this design ever produced - this is currently the only example available on the second hand collectibles market. Signed on the inside of the top right-hand drawer while care instructions are hand written on the underside of this same drawer.
