Description
This beautiful Italian chest of drawers from the 1950s is a fine example of mid-century modern design, characterized by timeless elegance and high-quality craftsmanship, making it a standout piece for collectors and vintage furniture enthusiasts.
Crafted from fine wood with drawer fronts veneered in bird’s eye maple, the piece stands out for the refined interplay of natural grain patterns, which lend depth and rich visual texture to the surface. The dresser features six drawers arranged in two symmetrical columns, each fitted with original sculpted brass handles — elegantly curved to add a touch of luxury and sophistication. Every drawer also includes a decorative keyhole, a detail that highlights the meticulous attention to both function and form, typical of Italian postwar design.
The structure showcases a slightly trapezoidal silhouette. The top is finished with a perfectly inset matte emerald green glass (it's possible to change the color on client's request), providing a stunning contrast in both color and texture to the bird’s eye maple veneer beneath — creating a surface that is both practical and visually striking. The base and sides, crafted from teak, add warmth and further enhance the contrast, while the tapered legs with brass feet complete the elegant aesthetic of the piece.
This dresser is perfect as a statement element in modern, eclectic, or classic interiors and is well-suited for both residential spaces and refined professional settings. Every detail speaks to the excellence of 1950s Italian design, offering a perfect synthesis of form, function, and beauty.
Authentic vintage piece, in good original condition, ready to be admired and used. -
