Description
An exceptional modular shelving system that embodies the rational elegance of mid-century Italian design. This piece, attributable to the Milanese School of the 1950s and early 1960s, is distinguished by its free-standing structure and inherent flexibility. Crafted in a warm-toned Teak finish, the bookcase is built around slender vertical uprights that support the modules in an airy and lightweight composition. The base features iconic, tapered, and angled pin legs (or tapered legs), an unmistakable hallmark of Italian Mid-Century Modern design. The configuration offers a perfect combination of storage and display: the central body is defined by a refined module with slatted horizontal drawers, flanked by closed compartments with doors and open shelves. This modularity is not only functional but reflects the progressive approach to furnishing typical of designers such as Franco Albini and Ignazio Gardella. A piece of great visual impact, ideal for contemporary settings, adding a touch of design history and sophisticated lightness.
Note: The bookcase structure can potentially be extended with additional components, as shown in the photo, bringing the total length of the structure up to 323 cm. -
