In 1954, he was exhibition director of ''Design in Scandinavia,'' at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, introducing modern Scandinavian design to Americans. Mr. Van Koert's furniture designs for Drexel, were represented by prominent department stores such as Macy's and Bloomingdale's
